Stretch is either the amount of stretch that a fabric has along its width (in linear yards) or height from salvage to salvage (top and bottom in inches). We use 2-way to describe one of these two directions and 4-way to describe both (so if you're used to 1- and 2-way stretch descriptions, please adjust accordingly in your yardage considerations).
